There is something almost magical about being on a long stretch of beach with no-one else around, just the surf, mountains and occasional seagull for company. I don't normally include people in my landscape paintings, but on this occasion it felt right to put a small figure near the horizon in order to provide a sense of perspective
 
This original artwork uses a unique combination of acrylic and watercolour paints and pastels with gold leaf on a 3.5cm deep, gallery wrapped canvas. It is protected from dust and UV light by a thin layer of varnish. The sides are painted black, giving this artwork a highly contemporary finish. Framing is not required. The artwork is signed on the front and provided with a certificate of authenticity.

Hay algo casi mágico sobre estar en un largo tramo de playa con nadie más alrededor, sólo el surf, montañas y gaviotas ocasionales para la compañía. Normalmente no incluyo a la gente en mis pinturas de paisajes, pero en esta ocasión me pareció correcto poner una pequeña figura cerca del horizonte para proporcionar un sentido de perspectiva
