-
Delivery: Signature required on delivery. If no one is home, you can usually rearrange delivery or redirect to a local UPS or FedEx drop-off point.
-
Processing Time: Orders are usually shipped within 2 to 3 working days after payment. If there are any rare delays, I will contact you immediately.
β
π‘οΈ Professional Packing and Artwork Protection
β
All artworks are professionally packed using a multi-layer protective system:
-
Tissue paper layer to protect the surface
-
Triple-ply cardboard sandwich protection
-
Watertight plastic sheeting
-
Large bubble wrap layer
-
Reinforced cardboard corners for shock resistance
-
Custom-made triple-ply cardboard box
Every artwork is fully insured for the complete purchase value and shipped with full documentation. If there is visible damage to the box on arrival, take photos immediately while you unwrap the package. If the artwork itself is damaged, contact me right away so I can resolve it quickly.
π Customs and International Shipping
β
All artworks are shipped with full customs documentation for international and intercontinental delivery. I monitor all packages leaving the EU and provide required information directly to customs authorities when needed.
Your contact details are given to the courier and they will contact you directly if any additional information or payment is required for local entry. If an international shipment is held by customs, I actively follow up and push for release, ensuring you receive regular updates.
β
π° Shipping Costs and International Fees
β
Delivery charges and studio subsidies depend on whether you are acquiring a full-price artwork or a promotional piece from our studio archives or sale collections. For absolute security, all shipping methods are strictly sent via premium door-to-door courier services, which are fully tracked, fully insured for the complete purchase value, and require a signature upon delivery.
β
1. Full-Price Artworks
β
-
UK and EU Collectors: Free fully insured courier shipping to all EU member states and the United Kingdom when shipped stretched on the wooden frame.
-
Rolled Shipping Option: Free fully insured courier shipping worldwide for all collectors who choose to have their canvas safely rolled and shipped in a heavy-duty tube.
-
International Collectors (USA, Canada, Worldwide): Subsidised shipping for stretched artworks. The studio covers approximately 50 percent of the actual outbound courier and transit insurance costs.
β
Examples of Subsidised International Rates (Full-Price Stretched Artworks):
-
100 x 100 cm painting: €225
-
70 x 70 cm painting: €105
β
2. Promotional and Sale Artworks
β
Because promotional and discounted pieces are offered at significantly reduced studio margins, free or heavily subsidised shipping is not available for stretched items. We offer a single, flat-rate courier service per size category to ensure your discounted artwork remains completely protected in transit.
β
-
UK and EU Collectors: Shipping is calculated at checkout based on the dimensions and weight of the crate.
β
-
International Collectors (Non-EU / Non-UK): For promotional and sale artworks, a modified studio shipping subsidy applies. The buyer covers a higher percentage of the actual global logistics and transit insurance costs compared to full-price purchases. The exact rate for your specific destination and artwork size is automatically calculated at checkout.
β
β οΈ Import Duties and Taxes
The purchaser is responsible for paying any import duties, customs fees, tariffs, local VAT, or sales tax charged by the destination country. These charges are set by your government and are not included at checkout.
I cover all Spanish export customs inspections and fees. Import inspections and administration charges from local customs authorities are the sole responsibility of the purchaser. Please check your country’s import regulations before ordering, as these charges are legally mandatory and non-refundable.

β
For Shipments Outside the EU and the UK: If a delivery is refused, unclaimed, or returned due to unpaid local customs fees or import taxes, the transaction will be treated as an unauthorised forced return. In these instances, the buyer remains fully liable for all original outbound shipping costs, return courier freight charges, and carrier administrative fees billed back to the studio. All such costs will be deducted 100 percent from your final artwork refund. If a package is abandoned or destroyed by international customs authorities due to a refusal to pay local duties, the buyer forfeits their right to a refund entirely.
β
Special Information for UK and US Collectors
β
-
United Kingdom: Due to post-Brexit VAT laws, the minimum order value is €165 to process shipments. Orders below this amount will be cancelled and fully refunded.
-
Original art attracts a reduced rate of 5 percent VAT on entry to the UK, payable online to the courier or upon delivery.
-
United States: Original works of art are currently exempt from US tariffs as of 3 July 2026. Please note that customs policies may change without notice.
β
πΌοΈ Stretched and Rolled Shipping Options
β
Large artworks can be expensive to ship when stretched on their internal wooden frames.
β
-
Rolled Shipping Option (Free Worldwide): The painting is carefully removed from its wooden stretcher bars and rolled securely inside a heavy-duty shipping tube.
-
Your Cost: Local re-stretching by a framer or gallery is required upon arrival at your own expense.
Please contact me before ordering to discuss this option. While not always possible, depending on the heavy texture of certain pieces, I am happy to arrange it when feasible. All measurements are in centimetres unless stated otherwise; please inform your local framer of this.
β©οΈ Returns, Cancellation, and Buyer Protection
β
14-Day Statutory Right of Withdrawal
If you are not completely satisfied with your ready-made artwork, you have the right to cancel your contract and return the piece within 14 calendar days of receiving it. You can initiate a return easily using the order cancellation button on our website or by emailing the studio directly.
β
Outbound Shipping Refunds
When an order is cancelled within the statutory 14-day window, you will receive a refund of the full artwork price plus the cost of our standard outbound delivery tier. If you specifically paid for an upgraded or expedited shipping service at checkout beyond our standard rates, the supplementary cost of that upgrade is non-refundable under EU consumer law.
Return Shipping Costs (100% Buyer Responsibility)
While I heavily subsidise outbound shipping to make acquiring art accessible, the buyer is responsible for paying 100% of the direct cost of return shipping. Because original artwork requires specialised, large-format courier transport, return shipping costs typically range between €80 and €300 depending on your location and the artwork's dimensions.
Return Transit Risk and Insurance Recommendation
Under Article 14(2) of EU Directive 2011/83/EU, the consumer assumes full legal liability for any damage or loss in value during return transit.
Because my original artworks are valuable, unique items, I strongly recommend using a reputable door-to-door courier (such as UPS or FedEx) and purchasing full transit insurance for the return journey.
Artwork must be returned in its original, professional multi-layer packaging.
If a returned artwork arrives back at our studio damaged due to improper packaging or courier mishandling during an uninsured return, we are legally entitled to deduct the loss in value up to 100% of the purchase price from your final refund.
Refused Deliveries and Uncollected Parcels
If you refuse delivery of your artwork at the door, or fail to collect it from a courier depot, the shipment will be returned to Spain by the carrier.
Under EU law, this is treated as a cancellation. However, courier companies charge substantial "Return to Sender" fees and return administration costs for rejected parcels. For all orders, including the UK, EU and US, any courier fees, Return to Sender charges, or administrative costs incurred due to a refused delivery or uncollected parcel will be deducted 100 percent from the final customer refund.
Returns Due to Unpaid Import Fees
If an artwork is returned to Spain because international customs charges, import duties, or local taxes were not paid by the recipient, the full cost of the return transit billed by the courier will be deducted directly from your refund. Refunds for returned international shipments are processed only after the artwork has safely returned to the studio and final courier invoices have been settled.
π¨ Damage in Transit
All artwork is rigorously inspected and documented before packing. If your artwork arrives damaged, please take clear photographs as you unpack and report it to me within 24 hours of delivery. Do not discard the packaging, as the courier requires this for inspection.
To process an immediate insurance claim, please email photos showing:
-
The artwork inside the original packaging
-
Detailed close-ups of the damage to the artwork
-
Any exterior damage, punctures, or crushing on the outer box
-
The shipping label attached to the box
Once received, I will initiate the insurance claim immediately. Your resolution options will always include a full refund, or a repair/replacement artwork where appropriate and agreed by you.
π¨ Commissions and Bespoke Orders
Shipping arrangements and costs for custom commissioned artworks are agreed individually when defining the project.
Because commissioned works are custom-created to the buyer's specific personal requirements, they are legally exempt from the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal under EU consumer law. Custom commissions cannot be cancelled or returned once the work has commenced, unless the artwork arrives physically damaged in transit.
π General Terms
-
A 14-day cooling-off period applies to all ready-made, non-commissioned artworks.
-
Any delivery discrepancies must be reported promptly upon arrival.
-
If a returned item cannot be restored to salable condition due to customer mishandling, a proportional deduction will be applied to the refund.
Reliability and Professional Experience
All artworks are created in my studio in Asturias, Spain. I have 18 years of professional experience working with international galleries and shipping artwork safely to collectors worldwide.
International shipping always carries a small level of risk, but this is systematically reduced through professional archival packing, full transit insurance, tracked logistics, mandatory signature delivery, and active studio monitoring.
