Mixed media using gold leaf on unstretched canvas
The first time in years that I've painted on unstreched canvas, straight of the roll! There is something extremely liberating about it; the paint moves differently and almost feels like painting on paper. This piece is loosely based on the idea of a landscape after a heavy rain. The sun is breaking through the clouds and there's a sense of relief as the land begins to dry out.
This atmospheric, original artwork uses a unique combination of gold leaf, acrylic and watercolour paints and pastels on unstretched canvas. It is protected from dust and UV light by a thin layer of varnish. The painting size is 60 x 86cm and there is an extra 3cm border of unpainted canvas all the way around. It was designed to be mounted on a stretcher frame but is sold unstretched.
The artwork is signed on the back and provided with a certificate of authenticity.
