Mixed media using gold leaf on box canvas

Heavy texture and deep, earthy reds. Whilst not intending to replicate reality, this piece attempts to capture the soft, changing light and atmosphere as the sun sets over the water, with just a hint of gold in the skyline that glows with the final rays of daylight.

This original artwork uses a unique combination of gold leaf, acrylic and watercolour paints and pastels on a 3.5cm deep, gallery wrapped canvas. It is protected from dust and UV light by a thin layer of varnish. The painting continues around the sides of the piece, making this highly contemporary painting seem even larger than it is. Framing is not required. 

The artwork is signed on the frontand provided with a certificate of authenticity.
