With this painting I wanted to give the illusion of simplicity whilst retaining a strong sense of warmth. The composition implies a landscape, without explicitly defining one. The intentional use of the geometry of the sheets of gold leaf is counterpoised in the bottom half of the artwork by the use of the natural flow and rhythm of the paints.
