Mixed media using silver and copper leaf on box canvas
This piece is rather unusual. The heavy texture is evident however, the silver and copper leaf underneath layers of watercolours gives this piece an irridescence that is almost impossible to capture in a photograph. I have included two full-frontal photos to try to give an impression of how it reflects the colours. The effect of the hard, abrasive texture is balanced by a wonderfully soft, metallic sheen.
This atmospheric, original artwork uses a unique combination of gold leaf, acrylic and watercolour paints and pastels on a 3.5cm deep, gallery wrapped canvas. It is protected from dust and UV light by a thin layer of varnish. The painting continues around the sides of the canvas. Framing is not required.
The artwork is signed on the back and provided with a certificate of authenticity.
